Closing Inventory Report or Stock as on date Report

Hi,

We have requirement to see closing inventory report or stock as on date report.

Client also asking to include vendor details as well in the report. Meaning Stock per vendor. Reason is to see with which vendor they have more stock lying with them and accordingly they can return to the vendor or plan something.

I have checked other standard reports like MB52 in SAP but no where vendor is linked in those reports.

Here I would like to understand the difference between Closing inventory report and Stock as on Date report.

can we use MB52 with customization for adding the Vendor code so that stock can be split by vendor and display (we have batch management active for material masters at material level)

What is the suitable table out of MCHA, MCH1 to capture the vendor details or any other table to track the correct vendor.
