Hi Friends,
The "mystery" has been solved. All configs and everything was in place. The thing was that the user was "Holding" the PO through the Hold button. This command generates the PO no., but does not do a budget check. It is just like the parked document functionality in FI!
At this stage, the PO is still incomplete. When you click the "check" or the "save" button, then it generates the error message for budget availability check!
It was a useful learning experience, something you may remember if a similar situation arises in future!
